Me and my friends ran it yesterday, wasnt too hard.
Grenths balance (we had a necro) Ritualist with ritual lord, mainly for keeping shelter up. Healer Elem, had some enchants to help the necro, and nuked the first groups of dragons / undead to clear them out. Once you get it down to just rot, its just a matter of keeping shelter up and eating away at his hp |

Things to try:
- Ritualist spirit spammer The protections from someone doing this at the back line are great, and they aren't enchantments so desecrate won't RAPE you. - Smiting Works on the smaller dragons, but not Rotscale because he isn't undead. - Grenth's Balance Pwn. Try W/N with Endure Pain, Defy Pain, and maybe Vital Blessing. Then get hurt and use Grenth's Balance. - A good warrior A good warrior can tank Rotscale by himself indefinitely once the smaller enemies are dead. So this gives your allies time to regroup, time to res each other, time to regen etc while the warrior tanks him and Rotty gets annoyed. - Hex removal Rotscale uses Malaise, and that energy denial can be painful. Coupled with Quickening Zephyr, monks often find their energy is 0 far sooner than it should be. - Spinal shivers + cold damage Also Winter and Greater Conlagration... try doing anything now Rotscale. - SS This is an efficient way of killing everything around Rotscale. They are all bunched up, and two or three SS, plus a warrior standing in aggro range being healed by his monks = dead dragons and clerics. - Have favour There is a statue just before the bridge where Rotscale is. If you have favour and kneel, you can get blessings for all! This means you get +3 health regeneration, useful against the poison. If everybody does this, you can get 10% morale boost for all! |

I just started a Factions mesmer and I was looking on Guildwiki for some ideas. There is a build, suggested for Rotscale, that uses Arcane Echo, Arcane Thievery, Arcane Larceny, and Diversion. This is supposed to disable all of his skills except Deafening Roar for a bit. I haven't tried it, but I was wondering what you guys think of this build. It's under the PvE farming builds section.

I will just add that I tried something close to the last post above, I was thinking along the same lines....

Echo Thievery + Larceny should get me 3 of his skills but nooooo...... I ended up stealing the same skill 3 times :/ I died shortly after lol Back to the drawingboard ... |

Diversion should be useful, fairly spammable, and he doesn't have many skills. Unless of course he is another enemy that cheats and has 3 of the same skill on the skill bar... getting sick of that in PvE.

I'm rezzing this topic in the Fairness of the search actually working and people yelling "search for it".
Nowadays people in ToA Are looking for this to Farm him with, with minor changes here and there: 1-2 Tanks 2 Nukers 2 Healing monks 1 Ritualist spirt spammer 1 SS/SS (Spiteful and Shivers) sometimes Grenth/SS 1 Winter/Daze Ranger (can use Greater as elite and use Concussion, or BHA) I know i listed 9 people. Some sub in here and there. Like 1 tank for the Ranger, or No Ranger at all, or only 1 Nuker. Its basically any combo of the above classes. |

I didn't know that they had upgraded rotscale, and they did a heck of a job apparently. I used to go kill him for fun with a bunch of henchies(I smite). It was a challenge but no horrible death wish like it has apparently become.
*Heads off to check out the new Rotscale in combat |

I found a way to kill him lol. Get a necro with as many skills that self inflict conditions as possible, then have him put them all on rotscale while hes bieng hit by everyone else. Worked for my group (i was the plague guy), but we also had a tank, a healer, and a fast cast nuker.

My "almost" completely disable rotscale build:
N/Me Soul Reaping: 4 = 3 + 1 Curse: 16 = 12 + 3 + 1 Inspiration: 12 Price of Failure Spirit of Failure Wither{E} Malaise Ether Lord Enfeeble + 2 optional skills Now...Rotscale will have no energy to cast spells, and normal attacks do 50% damage and miss 50% of the time. |
